Our common enemy is the virus.
Things that are not the enemy: everything else.
We’re all in this together. Can we unite?
I feel like there is a decent chunk of the world that feels the need to assign the “enemy” title to someone during this pandemic.
To some the evil is government, to others it’s scientists, and to others still it’s healthcare workers. While none of these things are unflawed, none of them are them are the . None of them are working with bad intent. None of them are aiming to harm humanity. Are there exceptions to that rule? Certainly. But that’s just it – they are the exceptions, not the rule. I like to live in a world where I assume the best of those around me as opposed to assuming the worst.
So where does that leave us when it comes to assigning the cause for all the pain and suffering this past year? Simple. It’s the virus. SARS-CoV-2.
At the end of 2019, a novel coronavirus entered the human network. And it’s been wrecking havoc since. It’s led us all, at the individual level, all the way up to the population level, to struggle. It’s added an additional burden to a world that already has enough on it’s plate. Isn’t it obvious that we’ve been falling apart because of the additional pressure of a new contagion (among many other things)?
While we don’t all need to agree on every aspect of what’s been done, or what is being done, I think there is absolutely no benefit in finding a group of people, or a single person, and assigning them the problem.
