A quick reminder today that anyone who says the pandemic is a hoax has some serious explaining to do. How else do you explain the incredible increase in number of deaths (over expected) since March of 2020?
Plotted here is the % excess deaths over average expected death counts for any given week (data can be viewed or downloaded from the cdc website). You can see that is hovers around the baseline expected number of deaths the majority of the time. The flu season of 2018-2019 was considered a particularly bad one and you can see the excess deaths increase during that time.
It is beyond clear that since the beginning of this pandemic there has been a huge surge in deaths. Beyond the countless other ways we know that this virus is real and is incredibly consequential, a look at the total death count for this past 18 months should be enough.
